Surabaya, E Java (ANTARA News) - Thirteen Indonesian officers from the Maritime Task Force of KONGA XXVIII-I/UNIFIL of the Indonesian ship of Bung Tomo 357, serving in world peace missions in Lebanon Sea, have received awards from the German military.

A Spokesman from the Indonesian Eastern Fleet Command, Lieutenant Colonel Maman Sulaeman, said here on Monday (Feb 20) that the Commander of Bung Tomo 357, Marine Colonel Heri Triwibowo, along with 12 officers, have been awarded the German Armed Forces Badge of Marksmanship (Sch�tzenschnur).

"The awards were given to the officers for their performances in shooting with short and long barrels at the UNIFIL Naqoura firing range on Jan 28, 2017," he explained.

The award ceremony took place on the deck of Bung Tomo ship, which was docked in Lebanon on Friday (Feb 17).

"The embedding brevet ceremony was conducted by Lieutenant Commander Oliver Oswald, a representative of the German military," Maman said.

Maman stated that the awards from the German military have become the pride of the Indonesian Maritime Task Force officers of KONGA XXVIII- I/UNIFIL.(*)
