Sydney (ANTARA News) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) met leaders of Australian companies here on the sidelines of his state visit to Australia on Saturday.
"Indonesias investment rating has shown progress," President Jokowi remarked during the meeting with the chief executive officers of Australian companies at the Shangrilla Hotel.
The president pointed out that the confidence index in Indonesia had also shown a positive trend.
Present at the meeting with President Jokowi were Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, Head of the Capital Investment Coordinating Board Thomas Trikasih Lembong, Minister/Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita, Indonesian Ambassador to Australia Nadjib Riphat Kesoema, and Head of Bekraf Triawan Munaf.
Yayan G.H. Mulyanar, Dewi Savitri Wahab, and Ade Padmo, respectively the Indonesian consul generals in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth, and also Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rosan Roslani attended the meeting.
President Jokowi and his entourage landed at the Kingsford-Smith Airport here at 6:57 a.m. local time, or 2:57 a.m. West Indonesia Standard Time (WIB), after a nearly six-hour flight from Denpasar, Bali.
In addition to meeting with the chief executive officers of Australian companies, President Jokowi received a courtesy call from Premier of New South Wales Gladys Berejiklian.
Both meetings were held at the Shangrilla Hotel where President Jokowi is staying during his visit in Sydney.(*)
