Jakarta, March 10 (Antara) - Islamic organization Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia has invited people to study the history of world civilization on education, science and technology through an exhibition entitled, "Khilafah and Education: Reviving The Golden Age," held in Jakarta on March 10.

"The exhibition showed how education around the world has been devastated due to secularism that separates religion from life, including in the educational aspect," an organizer of the exhibition, Pratma Julia, said here, Friday.

She explained that secularism, which was born after Europeans came out of the dark ages to the renaissance or enlightenment movement, is still retained in most peoples life, including in formulating and implementing education.

"Science and technology in the western world is truly advancing now, but the intellectual elites are suffering from deviation of sexual orientation diseases, immorality issues, and are disobedience," Pratma said.

According to her, the Islam-based education system aims to generate a society with strong faith and piety, good moral behavior, as well as masters in science and technology.

"We want to build optimism that even though we are now having many problems in education, Islamic law if applied to our life as a whole package, will be the solution to all problems of life, including education," Pratma asserted.

The educational exhibition also depicts the progress of the Islamic world in science and technology in the Middle Ages, such as inventions in optical science, airplane, and mathematical formulas, which have become the basis for modern technological developments.

The one-day exhibition has been visited by about 5,000 people. It is part of a series of Womens International Conference, which will be organized by Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia in Jakarta on Saturday.
