Jakarta (ANTARA News) - ANTARA News Agency received an award from the national police for reporting the performance of the police force.

The award was bestowed directly by National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian to the vice executive editor of ANTARA News Agency at the main conference room of the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

In addition to ANTARA News Agency, some 17 other media agencies received a similar award.

For the television category, several media agencies that received the award are TVOne, Metro TV, Kompas TV, INews TV, CNN, TVRI, JakTV, Tribrata TV, and Liputan6.

Media Indonesia, Harian Pos Kota, Kompas, and Republika received the award for the print media category, while Elshinta, RRI, and Sonora FM won the award for the radio category.

Detik.com received the award for the online media category.

The national police chief expressed hope that the police would strengthen cooperation with several media agencies.

"Synergy between the police and media must continue to be maintained. Synergy should be built on the principles of expediency," he remarked.(*)
