The public does not have to pay for the medical services, as the government has paid for them, President Jokowi stated.
Mempawah, W Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has called on the public to not hesitate to use the Health Indonesian Card (KIS) to avail medical services at community health centers and hospitals.

The public does not have to pay for the medical services, as the government has paid for them. Hence, if they do not receive proper services in a hospital after using the cards, they should report it to the district heads, governors, or the health minister, President Jokowi stated here, Saturday.

The head of state distributed KIS and several other social and conditional cash facilities, such Smart Indonesian Cards (KIP) for students, Food Supplement Program, and Hopeful Family Program (PKH).

Every family joining the PKH receives Rp500 thousand every three months, or Rp2 million annually, which they can withdraw from the bank gradually.

With regard to KIP, every elementary student receives Rp450 thousand; junior high school student, Rp750 thousand; and senior high school student, Rp1 million annually.

"The money offered through the KIP is adequate. However, I have to remind you that it should be spent for education, such as to buy books, bags, and school uniforms. However, if you spend it on mobile talk time recharge, the cards will be withdrawn," the president noted.
