Indonesia will not stay silent and will fight against colonialism."
Magelang (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian government and people have always supported Palestines struggle to become an independent state, not only through political approaches but also capacity building, a Foreign Ministry official stated.

"The manifestation of Indonesias support for Palestinian independence is reflected not only by its political support but also development program through capacity building," Director of Public Diplomacy at the Indonesian Foreign Minister Ambassador Busyra Basnur said at the Borobudur Conservation Hall in Magelang, Central Java, Friday.

He made the remarks while concluding a tourism and archaeology training program for Palestine, organized by the Directorate of Technical Cooperation at the Foreign Ministry in Magelang and Yogyakarta on March 13 and 14. The training was attended by Palestinians employed at the tourism and archaeology office, and the historic and cultural site conservation agency.

Indonesia has been consistent in supporting the Palestinian peoples struggle for independence, since the Asia Africa Conference in 1955, Al Busyra pointed out.

"We have always been reminded that almost seven decades since the Asia Africa conference was held in 1955 to fight against colonialism, we still question Palestines independence. Indonesia will not stay silent and will fight against colonialism," he said.
