Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the National Narcotics Control Commission of China (NNCC) cooperate in drug eradication.

"Indonesia and China can continue the memorandum of understanding that has been signed as the leaders of both countries Xi Jinping and Joko Widodo both have special attention in handling narcotics in each country," Head of BNN, Commissioner General Budi Waseso, said here on Wednesday.

The NNCC delegation led by Deputy Secretary General Lan Weihong has met with the Head of BNN to discuss the cooperation.

This meeting was a reciprocal visit of NNCC to Indonesia which visited the Chinese Commission in August 2016.

In addition, the visit of NNCC was aimed to follow-up of the cooperation plan which was agreed in Beijing on March 23, 2012.

In the meeting led by the Deputy of Law and Cooperation of BNN, Inspector General Arief Wicaksono Sudiotomo, there are six points discussed by NNCC and BNN.

"We discussed the mechanism of cooperation in implementing the MoU. We discussed the communication mechanism which contained in point of contact, one of which is by establishing hotline," Arief said.

He added that other topics discussed were the exchange of intelligence information, the inspection and supervision of narcotic precursors as well as narcotic tests.(*)
