Siti Hediati Hariyadi, the daughter of Indonesia`s second president Soeharto, has been installed as the new chairman of the Honorary Council.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President M. Jusuf Kalla, here Monday, installed 17 members of the Honorary Council and administrators of the Jakarta Red Cross (PMI) for the 2017-2022 period.

Siti Hediati Hariyadi, the daughter of Indonesias second president Soeharto, has been installed as the new chairman of the Honorary Council, while Muhammad Ali Reza has been appointed as head of the Jakarta PMI Administration.

The PMI follows a daily routine and performs emergency duties, according to Kalla, who is concurrently chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI).

The Jakarta PMI has to be a strong body, as it is tasked with serving some 10 million residents of Jakarta, and it serves as a reference for other PMI in the countrys regions.

The capital citys Red Cross also has to be ready when another region is in need of assistance, he stated.

Among the VIPs present at the ceremony were Jakartas Governor-elect Anies Baswedan, former head of the Jakarta PMI Administration Rini Sutiyoso, and eldest daughter of Soeharto Siti Hardiyanti Rukmana.(*)
