Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo has discussed preparation for Eid Al Fitr 1438 Hijri celebration by preparing toll access road for homecoming and staple needs.

"I ask the ministers and related institutions to prepare facilities such as public vehicles, fuel stocks, and staple needs to support the celebration of Eid and avoid unwanted happenings," Jokowi said here on Monday afternoon.

The president and the working cabinet conducted a meeting in Bogor Palace to discuss Eid preparedness, security and stability situation, and efforts to maintain economic condition.

The president asked the ministers to immediately resolve the issues related to Eid preparedness.

"I hope ministers can handle problems that still occur less than a month before Lebaran day," Widodo added.

He also discussed security situation during Eid celebration with the cabinet.

"We want the people to have a secure situation while celebrating Eid. I also asked the people to be vigilant of terrorism threats," Widodo stated.

Additionally, the meeting also discussed prices of staple needs, stocks, and the economic growth.

Previously, the Trade Ministry had agreed with associations to set the highest retail price for several products such as sugar at Rp12.5 thousand per kilogram, cooking oil at Rp11 thousand per liter, and frozen meat at Rp80 thousand per kilogram.

The ministry hoped there would be no hike on the price of staple needs towards Lebaran day.

Besides, the government is also preparing toll roads located in the northern Java Island to avoid traffic during homecoming period in central area of Java.(*)
