Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian pair Berry Angriawan and Hardianto won a champion title at Thailand Badminton Open on Sunday after defeating Raphael Beck/Peter Kaesbauer from Germany 21-16, 21-16 in the mens double event.

The Indonesian duo started fast in collecting points in the first game until 11-5 but due to their own mistakes the German players could later catch up to narrow the gap to 15-17. The game however was finally won by the Indonesians 21-16.

In the second game Berry/Hardianto seemed did not want to lose the momentum and so played fast and beautifully in front of the net to later defeat the German players to 21-16.

This was the second gold medal for Indonesia after the first one contributed by Greysia Polii who paired with Apriani Rahayu from the womens double event at the tournament.

Greysia/Apriani beat Chayanit Chadalam/Phataimas Muenwong from Thailand 21-12, 21-12.(*)
