Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo has stressed that allocation of the governments funding for political parties would be audited by the State Audit Board (BPK).

"It would be audited by the BPK every year. If the board finds that the fund was not used properly, it (the funding) could be stopped for the next year," Tjahjo said here on Monday.

The government has planned to increase its funding for political parties from Rp108 per vote currently to Rp1 thousand per vote effective from 2018.

The fund could be used for the partys general needs, including regeneration program and other activities.

Parties are not allowed to use the fund for personal as well as certain groups interest.

"Every spending must be recorded," the minister noted.(*)
