"We spoke about the global economy, Indonesian economy, and cooperation between Indonesia and IMF," Furusawa stated.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla received Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mitsuhiro Furusawa at the Vice Presidential Office here on Thursday.

"We spoke about the global economy, Indonesian economy, and cooperation between Indonesia and IMF," Furusawa stated after meeting the vice president.

Furusawa, who during the meeting was accompanied by Deputy Director in the Asia-Pacific Department of IMF Kenneth Kang, said the meeting also discussed cooperation in the face of the annual IMF meeting to be held in the Indonesian resort island of Bali in 2018.

He said the Indonesian economic growth is fairly good, particularly after the government issued a series of economic policy packages and reformed bureaucracy, thereby enabling the country to achieve an economic growth rate target of 5.2 percent.

The Indonesian government has proposed an economic growth target of 5.2 percent in the revision of the draft 2017 state budget. The figure is higher than the previous assumption of 5.1 percent in the 2017 state budget.

Kalla said debts and the IMF loan offer were not discussed during the meeting.

"We did not discuss them. The meeting is just a discussion," he said.(*)
