Bali (ANTARA News) - Hanura Party said one reason for supporting reelection of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in 2019 is the success of his government in the development of infrastructure, which contributes to the economy of the people in a number of regions.

"Hanura supporting reelection of Jokowi in 2019 is not without reason. Jokowi has shown concrete result of his work as a president," Deputy Secretary General of Hanura Tridianto said in the Partys National Leaders Meeting here on Friday.

The performance of the President is concrete and his development policy is in line with the policy of the Party of Hanura, he said.

He acknowledged that the governments debts have increased because of the large fund used to finance infrastructure projects such as toll roads, but the debts have been well spent .

"We back up Jokowi as the result of his work is real. Indeed we used loan funds but the funds have been used for infrastructure projects," he said.

He said the preceding government also used loan funds to build big infrastructure projects but many of the projects ended in failure.

Many infrastructure projects under the previous government such as Hambalang sport center, and power generating projects have been left unfinished because of corruption.

Tridianto said now the results of development are concrete especially in the regions such as Kalimantan, Sumatra, and Papua.

Earlier, Hanuras General Chairman Oesman Sapta Odang confirmed the position of the party to support reelection of Jokowi for the next presidential term 2019-2024.

Oeman Sapta said all 34 regional leaders of the party in Indonesia agreed to name Jokowi as presidential candidate for 2019-2024.

Hanura which is one of the coalition members supporting the government already declared its support for Jokowi if the president seeks reelection in 2019.

Osman said his party also supports the governments decision banning mass organizations not recognizing the state ideology Pancasila and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). (*)
