Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA News) - Indonesian bowling womens duet athletes Tannya Roumimper and Sharon Adelina Luman Santoso snatched the first gold medal for the country at the 29th Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Monday.

The Indonesian womens doubles team ensured a gold medal by collecting a total of 2,561 points.

Meanwhile, Singapore bagged silver and bronze medals, through the duet of Cherie Tan and New Hui Fen with a total of 2,490 points, and the duet of Daphne Tan and Shayna Ng with a total of 2,464 points.

"This is what I have been looking forward to, because in the previous SEA Games we only got a silver medal," Sharon said after the medal draping ceremony at Sunway Pyramid, Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur.

"I am very happy with this victory," Sharon remarked.

Sharon further said that she would continue playing, despite being a senior in the bowling sport.

"Im still strong, Im still going to play," she stated.

In the meantime, Tannya said that the competition in womens doubles was close, considering the opponent could not be underestimated.(*)
