Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The State Enterprises Ministry has expressed optimism the domestic economy will grow 6 percent next year with state-owned companies expected to contribute 1.5 percent to the growth.

Among the state firms projected to enjoy robust growth next year would be those engaged in the mining sector, the ministry`s secretary, Said Didu, said here on Thursday.

State mining firms would grow thanks to the improving prices of mining commodities after the global financial crisis had shown signs of abating, he said.

The plantation sector was also expected to contribute significantly to the economic growth next year, he said.

"The increase in commodity prices is projected to return to its peak like in 2008," he said.(*)
