Jakarta (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - Malaysia's fourth largest bank RHB Capital (KLSE:1066) said it has acquired 80 per cent stake in PT Bank Mestika Dharma for Rp3.2 trillion (US$344 million).

It said the stake was acquired from PT Mestika Benua Mas. RHB is allowed to increase its control of the Indonesian bank to 89 per cent in the next seven years after the process of acquisition is completed, RHB Director Tan Sri Azlan Zainol said here Monday.

The acquisition will give RHB a strong position in Indonesia, which continues to grow amid the global slump, he was quoted as saying by the newspaper Investor Daily.
