Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Hadi Purnomo and Herman Widyananda were elected chairman and vice chairman of the State Audit Board (BPK) on Wednesday.

They were elected to the posts by nine BPK members by voting, acting chief of the board`s public relations and foreign affairs bureau B Dwita Pradana said.

"According to the law, the BPK chairman-and vice chairman-elect will take an official oath. They will be sworn in by Supreme Court Chairman Harifin A. Tumpa." he said.

It was for the first time that BPK chairman and vice chairman were elected by BPK members.

BPK chairman and vice chairman have previously been chosen by the president at the proposal of the House of Representatives (DPR).(*)
