Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Boediono for the first time on Saturday chaired a preparatory meeting to discuss a National Summit which is to be held from October 29 to 31, 2009.

The meeting was conducted at Vice Presidential Palace on Merdeka Selatan street.
Present at the meeting were Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Coordinating Minister for Economy Hatta Radjasa, Coordinating Minister for People`s Welfare Agung Laksono, State Minister for National Development Planning/National Development Planning Board Chairman Armida Alisyabana, and head of Presidential Unit for the Management of Reform Programs (UKP3R) Kuntoro Mangkoesubroto.

The National Summit would be attended by all regional and central government leaders to formulate the 2009-2014 working programs.

The meeting chaired by the vice president started at 11 on Saturday morning but there was no follow-up information about the result of the gathering.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Economy Hatta Radjasa said Indonesian development in the next five years would be discussed in the National Summit from October 29-31, 2009.

"Today three coordinating ministers and the National Summit committee hold the preparatory meeting for the summit," Radjasa said at the vice presidential palace on Saturday.

Radjasa said each coordinating minister would make every effort to gather various problems, challenges, and development issues which had to be responded.

According to him, issues related to economy, poverty eradication, and state defense would also be discussed in the National Summit.

"President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will be the key speaker to speak on `Indonesia in the Next Five Years, and the Indonesian National Development," Radjasa said.

He said the National Summit would take place at Bidakara building here from October 29-31 and be attended by all regional heads across the country.(*)
