Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice president Boediono held a meeting here on Tuesday to make an inventory of electricity supply problems in the country.

"Just now the vice president made an inventory of problems and discussed ways to overcome them. Next week they will be discussed again," the vice president`s special staff for the media affairs, Yopie Hidayat, said after the meeting.

Yopie said the vice president received reports about various problems including the development of the 10,000 power plant projects.

He declined to mention the problems saying that they still had yet to be discussed further and they could still change.

"Just now the officials concerned were asked to seek their solutions and there would still be another meeting," he said.

The meeting was attended by coordinating minister for the economy Hatta Radjasa, minister of energy and natural resources Darwin, minister of state enterprises Mustafa Abubakar, the chairman of the presidential working unit for supervision, control and development Kuntoro Mangkusubroto and the president director of state electricity company PT PLN, Fachmi Mochtar.

For the past several weeks several regions in Indonesia such as Riau and other eastern regions had been suffering from shortage of electricity supply.(*)
