Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The ASEAN Secretariat organized a Senior Officials Meeting on Transnational Crime (SOMTC) in Bandung, West Java, on November 5-6, 2009.
The ASEAN senior officials together with representatives from relevant organizations, shared knowledge, experience and techniques in investigating cyber crime and implementing relevant laws, according to the Jakarta-based ASEAN Secretariat on its official website, here on Saturday.
"In view of the increasing trend of cyber crime in the region, ASEAN is beefing up the capacity of its law enforcement agencies in the investigation of this borderless activity," it said.
The workshop was convened with the support of the Government of the Republic of Korea and comprised representatives from the Asia-Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT), Australian Federal Police, International Criminal Police Organization - INTERPOL, Korean Computer Emergency Response Team (KrCERT), Korean National Police Agency, Microsoft and observers from Australia and the United States of America.
