Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Attorney General Hendarman Supandji said he would wait for an instruction from the President with regard to the settlement of the case of antigraft officials.

"The recommendations will certainly be in line with the President`s directives," he said here on Tuesday.

The team of eight, set up by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to verify the legal facts and processes of the case of extortion or bribery and power abuse of Bibit Samad Rianto and Chandra M Hamzah, submitted its final report to the President on Tuesday.

In the report the team concluded there had been a conflict of interest between police investigators and public prosecutors.

The team also concluded that professionalism of the police and public prosecutors was poor because the charges that they made against Bibit and Chandra were not based on strong facts and evidence.

Hendarman said if the President called for an order to stop investigation (SP3), a decision to stop prosecution (SKP2) and a stop in investigation for general public interest he would give a legal opinion.

"But I cannot convey it right now, if indeed the recommendation will be like that," he said.

He admitted that he just heard about the team`s recommendations. "I just heard about it from a television broadcast that the President just received it and is still studying it.

He said he would summon me and the national police chief, so just wait," he said.

He said he could not comment on the team`s recommendations. "I do not have to give it. I will only give my opinion if the House of Representatives summons me. I cannot not give it now," he said.(*)
