Bogor (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has received the reports of the national police chief and attorney general on their responses to the Team of 8`s recommendations.

Presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha said at the private residence of the head of state in Puri Cikeas, Bogor, on Saturday the President received the reports from National Police and Attorney General`s Office (AGO) staffers.

National Police Chief General Bambang Hendarso Danuri and Attorney General Hendarman Supanji were not seen coming to the president`s private residence since morning.

"Today we received the written reports from the national police chief and the attorney general in the afternoon. The documents were delivered by their aides," Julian said.
After receiving the reports, he said, the President summoned his special adviser for legal affairs Denny Indrayana and special adviser for political communications Daniel Sparingga to study the documents.

Julian said if needed the national police chief and the attorney general would later be summoned to give direct explanations on their reports.

"I think the essence is that perhaps later, if deemed necessary, and after we have studied the reports, the President might call the national police chief and the attorney general (to give explanations). It can be tomorrow or tonight," he said.

According to his promise President Yudhoyono would give a statement regarding the government`s stance on the case of antigraft officials Bibit Samat Rianto and Chandra M Hamzah on Monday, November 23, 2009.

The President received the recommendations of the Team of 8 which he had set up to verify the legal facts and processes in the controversial case on Tuesday.

The team in its recommendations asked, among other things, for sanctions against the police and attorney general office officials responsible for the forced investigation of Bibit and Chandra.

The head of state after receiving the recommendations gave the national police chief and the attorney general two days to make their comments on the recommendations. (*)
