Quake hits Aceh

The epicenter of the quake which struck at 12.27 local time was located 55 km southeast of Sigli at a depth of 10 km, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said.
The quake was felt by people living in the provincial capital, Banda Aceh, at II-III and in Sigli at III on the Modified Mercalli Scale.
Aceh was once hit by a magnitude 8.9 quake and subsequent tsunami on December 26, 2004.(*)
