Jakarta (ANTARA News) - PT Semen Gresik expects its net profit for 2009, generated by the efficiency program it was carrying out this year, to increase 30 percent from Rp2.53 trillion in the previous year, its president director said.

"The net profit is predicted to increase by 30 percent of the net profit in 2008 which stood at Rp2.52 trillion," PT Semen Gresik Dwi Sutjipto said after a hearing with the House of Representatives (DPR)`s Commission XI on financial affairs, here on Thursday.

For 2010 Semen Gresik is preparing a capital expenditure amounting to US$400 million. The fund was part of the corporate capital expenditure for the 2009 - 2014 period which amounted to US$1.2 billion.

He said that the capital expenditure that had been absorbed in 2009 totaled US$200 million. "All the need for capital expenditures is taken from the company`s internal cash," he added.

Dwi said that the funds for the 2010 - 2014 capital expenditures were allocated for the development of two units of cement factories in East Java and Makassar.

The factory in East Java, with a production capacity of 25 million tons per annum, is expected to begin operations in 2012. It is also expected to increase its production capacity to 29 million tons in 2014.

Besides two factories, the funds would also be used to build two power plants and the development of information and technology system, Dwi said.(*)
