Jayapura (ANTARA News) - The number of police officers who are safeguarding Freeport and environs will not be reduced, even after the death of Kelly Kwalik on December 16 2009, said the Regional Police Chief.

Kelly Kwalik, known as Commander of the Free Papua Movement (OPM) was killed in a police ambush at 03.00 a.m local time, Wednesday, December 16, 2009 in Gorong-Gorong, Timika.

The police will not reduce the number of their security personnel at Freeport, because the dead OPM chief still has many loyal followers who may strike back at any time,  Papua Police Chief chief Inspector General Bekto Suprapto said here Friday.  
The police will also arrest other OPM members like like Goliath Tabuni.The police will also coordinate with the local population to main security.(*)
