Jakarta (ANTARA News) - An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale jolted southeast Gorontalo, Sulawesi, on Tuesday at 7.13 am Western Indonesian Standard Time (WIB).

The temblor`s epicenter was located at 0.58 degrees southern latitude and 123.83 degrees eastern longitude, around 150 km southeast of Gorontalo, or 254 km southeast of Manado (North Sulawesi Province), at a depth of 10 km below sea level, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency here on Monday.

Last Monday (Feb. 8), Gorontalo was also hit by an earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale. The temblor`s epicenter was located around 80 km southeast of Gorontalo, or 252 southwest of Manado, North Sulawesi.(*)
