Muara Teweh (ANTARA News) - The production of the coal mine exploited by a number of mining companies in Barito Utara (Barut) regency, Central Kalimantan in January 2010 reached 240,092 metric tons.

"The hundreds of tons of coal are produced by 10 invdestors holding mining concessions" Head of the Mining Division the Barut Mines and Energy Agency Daud Danda said here Tuesday.

He said the coal production in the Central Kalimantan hinterlands is still facing problems of Barito river transportation.

So that in August and September last year coal transportation stopped as the river flow became too shallow for barges and big ships.(*)
