Tashkent (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - The former Soviet state of Uzbekistan is planning to invest in the construction of an industrial plastics production plant in the south eastern city of Kokand. The project, involving an investment of around US$19 million, is part of a major regional industrial development scheme for Kokand.

This will involve a total spend of US$116 million over
the period 2010 to 2012, according to reports in the Turkish Weekly journal.

The overall development programme, approved in
January, is set to include 40 separate projects in the chemical, automotive, oil and gas, electrical, food and construction fields over three years.
