Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said here on Thursday she refuses to be blamed for the Bank Century scandal.
"If a mistake was made by parties during the bailout process, don`t blame me for their fault," she said here on Thursday before attending a cabinet meeting at the presidential palace.
Asked if the other parties she considered guilty in the Bank Century case were senior officials of Bank Indonesia (the central bank), Mulyani declined to comment.
Mulyani said she was just a state official who was doing her her job on the basis of existing regulations.
She said she would refuse being sacrificed by any party in the Bank Century case and respond to the House`s inquiry committee`s final conclusions that named her as one of the most responsible persons for the bailot as a political process.
Four among nine factions in the House`s Bank Century Inquiry Committee had stated that Boediono (former governor of the central bank, now Vice President) and Sri Mulyani (former chief of the Financial System Stability Committee - KSSK) as the most responsible persons in the Century bank case.
