Seoul (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - South Korea posted a trade surplus of US$2.33 billion in February thanks to a steady rise in overseas demand for locally made goods, a government report said today.

Exports came to US$33.27 billion last month, up 31.0 per cent on-year, with imports jumping 36.9 per cent to US$30.94 billion as shipments of key manufactured goods such as semiconductors, displays, ships and cars all made solid gains, according to the monthly report by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy.

The favorable trade balance is a turnaround from the US$460 million deficit tallied for the previous month.
