Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The ruling Democrat Party (PD) is yet to take a stance on the coalition partners which voted for a different option during Wednesday`s House plenary session on the Bank Century bailout scandal, a PD associate chairman said.
Democrat Party chairman for human resources Andi Mallarangeng said here Thursday that his side would however carry out an evaluation about the coalition.
"We will carry out an evaluation on our coalition and look at ourselves internally, about what we have done and what we will do next," Andi said.
"In essence, an evaluation must be done and what options have to be taken. For this purpose we will do some careful thinking," Andi said.
He said that there were a lot of options within the context of coalition. The Democratic Party would clearly give response for the interest of the nation and state.
Without expressing disappointment, Andi said his party learned a lesson from the House plenary session which lasted for 12 hours on Wednesday.
He said that the Democratic Party would continue to learn a lesson from the results of the House plenary and have to study the attitude of political parties in coalition and what was best to do next.
In the meantime, National Mandate Party (PAN) chairman Hatta Rajasa expressed his disappointment over the results of the House plenary sessions.
"It is just human if I say I am disillusioned, but it`s life and that`s politics. For me, honesty, loyalty, sincerity and truth are the fundamentals of life," he said.
However, he said what happened during the House plenary was not "the end of everything." "It`s something normal in life. Sometimes we have to face such a reality so that we should not say this is the end of everything. No, this is something normal in life," he said.
General Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Suryadharma Ali said the truth could not be found by means of voting. "The two options, namely Option A and Option C were both good. Substantially, they have only a small difference," he said.
He said that PPP wanted another option but it was impossible. In this case, PPP was forced to vote for A or C. "And it turned out that PPP voted for C as we could see Wednesday night," he added.
He said that he was aware that any decision would have risks but when referring to a cabinet reshuffle, he said it was the president`s prerogative.
"Reshuffle is the prerogative of the president. No matter whether or not there is a Bank Century case, the reshuffle will take place if the president considers it necessary," he said.
