Melbourne (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - ANZ Banking Group Ltd (ASX:ANZ) says it has received separate regulatory approvals for its proposed acquisition of Royal Bank of Scotland's (RBS) businesses in Singapore and Taiwan. Singapore's Monetary Authority granted ANZ a full banking licence, the bank said in a statement on Wednesday.

ANZ will obtain five retail branches, 600 more staff
and 350,000 additional customers from RBS's retail, wealth management and commercial banking operations in Singapore.

The
bank says Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission has approved ANZ's acquisition of RBS's retail, wealth management, commercial and institutional banking operations in Taiwan that will give ANZ 1,400 more staff, 1.3 million customer accounts and 21 branches with licences for 16 more.
