Jakarta (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and a number of foreign financers have pledged a loan of US$1.81 billion for two coal-fired power plants in Java.

The
foreign financers agreed to loan US$1.21 billion for the third unit of Paiton power plant in East Java and US$595 million for the 660-megawatts Cirebon power plant in West Java.

JBIC, which
is the lead arranger will provide US$729 million for Paiton and other banks such as Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi, Mizuho Corporate Bank Ltd, and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp will provide the rest.
