Bengkulu (ANTARA News) - Ten crew members of MV Usaha Muda I which sank in Ipuh waters, Ipuh subdistrict, Muko Muko regency, were still missing on Thursday, commander of the naval vessel Enggano First Lieutenant Nano Harsono said on Thursday.

"We were still looking for the other ten crew members after rescuing two of them on Tuesday," he said.

Enggano which had been searching for the missing victims of Usaha Muda I since Tuesday had combed the Ipuh waters as far as 15 nautical miles.

According to the two survivors, Anto (24) and Panji (27), their boat went down 6 nautical miles from the coast in a depth of 80 meters.

Bad weather conditions and strong winds also made it increasingly difficult to find the missing, identified as Buya, Sefinul, Samir, Yan, Eko, Putra, Iskandar, Syukur, Ocha and Mamat.

Harsono said after the search for more than 24 hours Enggano had to return to Bengkulu to attend the survivors who are in a serious condition.

"Actually the search could be continued, but as the condition of the two survivors is serious, they had to return trip takes 6 hours," he said.

He said the search will be continued at 11 am local time with the help of local fishermen.

Usaha Muda I was sailing from Teluk Bayur port of Padang to Jakarta`s Tanjung Priok port, but went down in Ipuh waters some 6 nautical miles of the coast.

The 186 gross tons vessel had 500 tons of cement and ceramic products. The vessel sank in strong winds and high waves.
