Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Attorney General`s Office has sacked two of its prosecutors for violating the code of ethics, a spokesman said.
One of the two prosecutors was discharged dishonorably and the other honorably, chief of the prosecutors honorary council (MKJ) M Amari said on Thursday.
"The violations committed by the two prosecutors were spelled out by the MKJ," he said.
The two were among 12 delinquent prosecutors tried at the council.
Amari who is also junior attorney general for intelligence led the trial of six of the 12 delinquent prosecutors.
He said two of the six prosecutors tried at the MKJ had been sacked and two others had been removed from their functional posts.
"The other two prosecutors are still under the process of trial," he said.
Junior Attorney General for Supervision Hamzah Tadja said earlier the 12 prosecutors would be brought to the council to make self defence.
Most of the 12 prosecutors were allegedly involved in extortion, household violence and bribery, he said.
"We hope the case of problematic prosecutors can be settled in 2010," he said.
Earlier, the Commission for Prosecutor`s Offices (Komjak) had handed over dossiers of the delinquent prosecutors accused of involvement in judicial mafias based on public reports between 2006 and 2009 to the judicial mafia eradication task force. (*)Editor: B Kunto Wibisono
