Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Fire-fighters were on Saturday still unable to extinguish a blaze at a sandal factory on Jalan Kamal Raya, West hajarta, which broke out last Thursday (March 11).
"Today we have deployed 22 fire trucks to put out the fire at the factory," Pardi, a fire brigade officer, said here on Saturday.
He said the flames on top of the building were actually already under control but chemical substances in the factory had reignited the fire.
According to the police, four people were still known to be in the burning building.
"We received reports from four families saying their relatives who had been working in the factory went missing after the fire started," chief of criminal affairs at the Kalideres police precinct Inspector Heru SY said.
Heru said the cause of the fire was still unknown. Up till now, the factory`s management had refused to make any comments about the incident. (*)Editor: Aditia Maruli
