Beijing (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - Japan Steel Works (JSW) (TSE:5631), the world's largest supplier of notebook computer manufacturing equipment, is to set up a manufacturing base in Chongqing, according to an executive in charge of JSW's Chinese market.

The Japanese company would team up with a Taiwan company to establish a manufacturing base for making the shells of telecommunication products, such as notebook computers and mobile phones.

The price for a magnesium alloy notebook computer shell in the international market is about US$80-100, generating a profit margin of around 10 to 20 per cent. The establishment of the base could bring substantial profits both for the companies and the city.
