Karimun, Riau Islands (ANTARA News) - A Riau Islands customs patrol boat caught a sail motor boat KLM Pratama carrying 60 tons of allegedly illegal ammonium nitrate explosives not far from the South China Sea in the small hours of Monday.
According to a source of the Riau Islands customs and excise agency, KLM Pratama was caught by customs patrol boat BC 30002 skippered by Tonggo Hasibuan when on its way from Malaysia to Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.
It was said that the cargo of the boat with four crew members was not much different from the 75 tons of explosives found on KM Fungka Sejahtera on November 18, 2009.
"The cargo of KLM Pratama consisted of a 100 percent ammonium nitrate," the source said.
The customs patrol boat under the command of Ruslan also seized 2,000 pressed bales of used clothes from Malaysia to Maumere in the Natuna Sea.
"The boat carrying the pressed bales was caught only three hours after KLM Pratama was arrested," the source added. (*)Editor: B Kunto Wibisono
