Berlin (ANTARA News) - The bilateral relations between Indonesia and Germany have been increasing since President Soesilo Bambang Yudhoyono`s visit to Berlin recently, Indonesian ambassador to Germany Eddy Pratomo said.

This remark was made by Ambassador Eddy Pratomo flanked by Counselor of the Indonesian embassy in Berlin Agus Priono in a special interview with Antara`s London correspondent in his office Tuesday.

President Yudhono and his wife Madame Ani, paid an official visit to Berlin in December last year before attending a meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The ambassador said that one of the important results of the President`s visit was the signing of an MoU on Clean Development Mechanism Project Activities by State Minister for Environment Gusti Muhammad Hatta and State Secretary of the Ministry of
Environment, Natural Conservation and Nuclear Security Ms. Ursula Heinen-Esser.

In this context, an identification of projects which will be built needs to be done like renewable energy and energy efficiency, exchange in information on basic lines and project promotion on the basis of the Kyoto Protocol.

The ambassador also said that he will also ratify the Indonesia-Germany Forum which had been inactive since 2001. The forum will discuss matters relating to development, he said.

In addition a new forum had also been set up, namely the Bilateral Consultation Forum to discuss the results of cooperation in many sectors, including politics and development between the two countries.

He said the forum will meet in Jakarta in May this year to discuss bilateral relations, and the next meeting will be held in Germany.

The meeting will also discuss visa free facilities for Indonesians attending the conference in Germany.

The three topics to be taken up in the forum are decentralization, good governance, private development and climate change, health and education.

He added that the partnership consultation forum will bring the governments of the two countries closer to each other like President Obama`s forthcoming visit to Indonesia during which a partnership forum between the two countries will also be developed.
