Padang (ANTARA News) - The money that had been raised to help Palestinians overcome their suffering because of Israeli oppression had reached more than Rp145 million.

These remarks were made by chairwoman of the West Sumatra PKS headquarters Trianda Farhan in Padang during a rally at the local legislative council (DPRD) on Sunday.

"We are raising money for the Palestinians being oppressed by Israel, and managed to collect more than Rp145 million on Sunday," she said.

They money will be collected by the National Committee for the Palestinian People in Jakarta.

"We have heard that in Palestine Muslims are barred from holding Friday prayers, this is a gross violation of freedom," she said.
