Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has banned Nunun Nurbaeti Daradjatun to travel abroad because of her involvement in the alleged bribery case involving some parliamentarians.

KPK spokesman Johan Budi confirmed the ban when asked by ANTARA here on Saturday. "That is true. We have banned her from leaving abroad," he said in his short message to ANTARA.

Johan did not tell the exact date of the issuance of the ban saying only that it was produced at the end of March 2010.

"(The ban has been effective) since the fourth week of March," he said. He did not either tell about the content of the ban.

A source said KPK issued the ban on March 24, 2010. KPK meanwhile has also issued a travel ban for Ahmad Hakim Safari MJ alias Arie Malangjudo because of their involvement in the case linked to the election of Miranda S Goultom as a central bank`s senior deputy governor in 2004. KPK bans the two from travelling abroad for a year.

Nunun Daradjatun is the wife of former vice national police chief Adang Daradjatun.
Until now she could not as yet testify at the court because according to her claim, she had a health problem making her unable to remember anything.

Johan said KPK would send another summon to Nunun to give her testimony. KPK would also send a team of doctors to check her health conditions.

"After she receives the summons and still would not come and is proven she is not ill KPK will forcefully summon her," he said.(*)
