Mataram, W. Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Governor Zainul Majdi is to brief the central government on his government`s efforts in implementing the Lombok international airport (BIL) project and the constraints it is meeting.

NTB provincial administration spokesman Lalu M Faozal said here on Monday the governor would give the briefing at a coordination meeting at the vice presidential office in Jakarta on Tuesday.

"The governor has prepared the materials on the constraints and development efforts of BIL to be presented at the vice presidential office tomorrow," Faozal said.

He said in the presentation the governor would point out various obstacles in the construction of BIL such as serious land clearance problems.

Lalu said there were three main problems hampering the construction of the airport, namely the development of main infrastructure facilities, road access to the airport, and social problems in the areas around the airport site.

But he said there was no serious problem especially for the construction of main infrastructure facilities because airport management company PT Angkasa Pura-I had expressed readiness to have it completed by the end of July this year.

However, the construction of a road to the airport and land clearance for it still posed a big problem but various efforts had been made to solve it.

"In various coordination meetings with related officials at provincial and district level, it was disclosed that a road to the airport and land clearance remain a problem that has to be solved immediately," Faozal said.
