President plants trees at Cipanas Palace

Cipanas, W Java (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono planted `trembesi` trees in a protected forest area near the Cipanas Palace here on Friday.
The tree planting event was one of the activities before the president hosted a gathering with journalists daily covering his activities at the State Palace.
"Hopefully, these trees will grow well. Let`s wait for them for two years to see which of them will flourish more," Yudhoyono said when he planted one of the trees.
Besides the president, representatives of the newsmen also planted about 10 casuarina trees together with Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi and Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam.
All members of the president`s family, including sons Agus Harymurti and , Edhie Baskoro, daughter-in-law Anissa Pohan and grand daughter Almira Tungga Dewi Yudhoyono joined the activities.
During the activities, the president and journalists took a stroll on a 1.4-km-long pathway in the protected forest.
The head of state also observed the "Herbal Park" which was inaugurated by the First Lady recently. The president was briefed on the park.
The president`s get together with the pressmen at the Cipanas Palace was also attended by a number of high state officials, including Informatics Minister Tifatul Sembiring, National Police Chief General Bambang Hendarso Danuri and National Defense Forces (TNI) General Djoko Santoso.
