Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Composite Stock Price Index at the Indonesian Stock Exchange here Wednesday noon closed lower following losses in regional bourses.
The JKSE index traded 1.548 point or 0.40 percent lower to 2,899.100, while the LQ45 index also lost 2.174 points or 0.38 percent to 563,317.

In the morning trading session, the Indonesian Stock Market recorded 37,895 transactions involving 1,280 billion shares worth Rp856.724 billion.

Some 138 stocks lost, 41 stocks advanced and 56 remained static.

In the regional bourses, Hong Kong`s Hang Seng index slumped 244.91 points or 1.22 percent to 19.57, Japan`s Nikkei-225 index went down 69.52 points or 0.75 percent to the level of 9,268 points, and Singapore`s Straits Times index slightly rose 0.90 point 0.03 percent to 2,868.

The index slumping down at regional bourses had affected the Indonesian stocks, according to PT Citi Pacific Securities`s research analyst Hendri Effendi.

"Our market is closely related to external markets. The regional bourses has given negative sentiment to the Jakarta`s Composite Stock Price Index," he said.

In the trading`s opening early Wednesday morning, the Composite Stock Price Index at the Indonesian Stock Exchange opened slightly lower .

The JKSE index declined 0.31 percent or 8,947 points to 2,903.701 and the LQ-45 index dropped 0.33 percent or 1.876 points to 563.557 points.

Among top losers at the Indonesian bourse were automotive industry United Tractor shares that dropped Rp150 to Rp18,550 per share, automotive industry Astra International shares that plunged Rp150 to Rp46,700, and private bank Bank Danamon shares that declined Rp100 to Rp5,200 per share.

State-owned Bank Mandiri shares lost Rp50 to Rp5,750, cigarette company Gudang Garam shares decreased Rp50 to Rp34,900 and mining company Bukit Asam shares went down Rp50 to Rp17,300.
