Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Thursday offered condolences on the demise of Fira Beranata, wife of Din Syamsuddin, chairman of Muhammadiyah.

"The President has of course expressed his deep condolences," presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha said.

By 2 pm local time, the President had yet to decide whether he would pay last respects to Mrs. Syamsuddin.

"We have received information that her body will be buried at 4 pm Western Indonesian Standard Time (WIB), while as we all know that the president`s schedule is very tight today," he said.

Fira Beranata, the wife of Din Syamsuddin, chairman of Muhammadiyah, the second biggest Muslim organization in Indonesia, passed away at the Jakarta Medical Center on Thursday.

"It is true that Din Syamsuddin`s wife died today around 10 am," a public relations officer of the organization, Edy Kuscahyanto, said earlier.

Edy added that the body of the deceased had been brought to the house of mourning at Warung Buncit, Central Jakarta.

"The time and location of the funeral had yet to be determined," he added.

Meanwhile, President Yudhoyono at 2 pm local time started to lead a cabinet meeting to discuss infrastructure development and other matters relating to the national economy.

Presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha said the cabinet meeting which was held at the presidential office and began at 2 pm also discussed investment and smallholder`s business credits.

"There are three topics discussed in the cabinet meeting, namely infrastructure development, investment and smallholder`s business credits (KUR)," he said. (*)
