Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono would give a state address to mark the Independence Day next month before a joint session of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) and House of Representatives (DPR), Sudi Silalahi said.

The minister/state secretary said after given directives to participants of a defense leadership symposium at the state palace here on Friday the president`s speech would be divided into several parts namely state address, financial statement and on the 2011 budget.

"So, there will be a state address and then a financial note and budget. So there will be two sessions. The first session is for the state address, followed by a break and then a financial note and budget," he said.

Sudi would not disclose materials to be brought up by the President in his speech on August 16 or a day before Independence Day.

"We are just formulating it. Certainly we cannot tell about it yet," he said.

The DPR and the DPD finally agreed to hold a joint session on August 16 to hear the head of state`s state address after some debate.

All political party factions in the DPR have agreed with the decision to hear the president`s state address at a joint session and would prepare rules of order for it.(*)
