Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Thai Minister attached to the Prime Minister`s Office, Ongart Klampaiboon, visited ANTARA News Agency here on Tuesday.

During the visit, Klampaiboon, accompanied by some of his aides and Thai media representatives, met with ANTARA`s CEO Ahmad Mukhlis Yusuf and the agency`s Chief Editor Syaiful Hadi.

At the meeting, Syaiful Hadi who is also secretary of the Confederation of ASEAN Journalists (CAJ) suggested that Thai journalists cooperate actively with other ASEAN journalists to support the implementation of the ASEAN Community by 2015.

"The CAJ secretariat and ANTARA are ready to cooperate not only with the Thai News Agency but also with Thai newspapers and other media. We hope the Thai government can facilitate this cooperation in order to build the same perspectives among ASEAN journalists," he said.

Minister Klampaiboon expressed appreciation for ANTARA`s suggestion adding that during the past three years his ministry had arranged several activities related to ASEAN journalists such as organizing press tours in Thailand.

"Like ANTARA, we also have a school of journalism and we would like to see cooperation also in the exchange of journalists between Indonesia and Thailand," said the minister. (*)
