President helps mount Sinabung evacuees

Kabanjahe, N Sumatra (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono extended help to evacuees of Mount Sinabung in Tanah Karo regency, North Sumatra, who are still staying in tents in Kabanjahe.
"The presidential assistance was handed by the Disaster Eradication National Agency (BNPB) to Tanah Karo Regent DD Sinulingga," Emergency Affairs Director Untung said in Kabanjahe on Wednesday.
Untung said the Presidential assistance included 30,000 masks, and 7,500 containers of milk. It was handed today at the Mount Sinabung Diaster Mitigation Main Post in Kabanjahe.
He said the second phase of the Presidential aid include7,500 blankets, 3,000 instant noodle packs, 2,000 promina milk packs, 2,000 promina food packs, 600 liters of cooking oil, 200 dozens of women`s underwear, and 40 kg of salted fish.
Data from the Mt Sinabung disaster mitigating post said up to Wednesday at 8 pm, the number of evacuees reached 25,461 people given emergency places to stay in 11 location in Kabanjahe.
The 11 locations include Jambur Lige (2.500 people), Jambur Adil Makmur (2,655), Jambur Tuah Lopati (1,434), Jambur Sempakata (1,267), Jambur Jambur Dalihan Natolu (1,293), Gedung KNPI/Serba Guna (560) and some other places.(*)Editor: Ruslan Burhani
