Jakarta, Indonesia (ANTARA News) - Welfare Coordinating Minister Agung Laksono had seen off the dispatch of the second batch of Indonesian supplies for Pakistan flood victims here on Wednesday.

The humanitarian supplies were dispatched at Soekarno-Hatta airport in the presence of the Pakistan ambassador and Syamsul Maarif, head of National Disaster Management Board.

This second batch supplies included 45 Disaster Management Quick Reaction paramedics, military personnel, volunteers and a reporter, in addition to a contribution of 1.7 million US dollars.

"The 2 million US dollars consisted of 1.7 million in cash and 300 thousand US as cost for the team," Agung said.

The supplies were collected as the second under President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono`s order for state solidarity and humanity.

The first supplies worth 1.3 million US dollars consisted of logistics, fast food, and medical supplies, were sent out in August. The first and second batch of supplies for Pakistan were worth 3.3 million US dollars, Agung said.

Pakistani ambassador Sanaullah expressed deep appreciation for the huge support from the Indonesia government.

The floods in Pakistan were very costly, Sanaullah pointed out, adding that he hoped the help would be really helpful for the flood victims.(*)
