Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Bank Indonesia (BI) maintains its key rate or BI Rate at 6.5 percent, which has been fixed since the past one year.

BI Governor Darmin Nasution here on Friday said BI took the move because of potential inflation pressure and as an effort to meet the inflation target at plus minus five.

"The BI Board of Governors continues to pay attention to the year-on-year inflation rate increase at 6.44 percent this August, while the year-on-year main inflation is 4.53 percent," he said.
